Web 2.0 Diigo Teaching Tool
My Tool that I will be presenting is the Video Editing Software Loopster. Loopster is a new way to edit videos fast and easy and export/upload to anysite you want. There is no software necessary to download as well. Personally I can use it for any video projects I have it for in any class possible, for example Ms.Millar has video projects often and this software is perfect because it is so easy to use. I would edit any of my class videos or project in the future with this app. This app is perfect for any student that is not familiar with video editing software, like many teens today.

Social Media Advice
After reading the article about the do's and dont's of what to do on social media I feel that I am doing a good job on social media because I follow most of these rules. I am always thinking twce before I post anything, becuase I know that one day it could come back and bite me in my behind. I try to stay awaay from anything that involves f-bombs or any profanity. After reading this I will definitely think a thrid time before I post or retweet anything in the near future, social media is meant to get people connected and have fun, not to hate anyone or stay away from anyone, that's why I am going to follow this article so no one will think I am a different person behind a monitor than in real life.

My Favorite Restaurant
My favorite restaurant in the area is a hot dog joint called Rutt's Hut. I have been going to Rutt's Hut ever since I could remember. It has been a favorite of my dad and mine ever since I could walk. My dad would always take me when we were in the area. Rutt's Hut is in Clifton, New Jersey right off of Route 21. At Rutt's Hut they serve some of the best hot dogs on the planet. The reason why Rutt's Hut is famous is because they deep-fry their hot dogs to the point were they crack, their hot dogs now have the name "rippers" because of this rip.
My personal favorite to order there is always two rippers and fries with gravy, a classic at Rutt's Hut. The company was owned many years ago by Royal Rutt and his wife Anna. They then sold the company to Nicholas Karagiorgis in late 1974. He now owns one of the top hot dog joints in New Jersey.

This is one of my favorite's because of the history of me and my dad going there and having such great memories. Whenever I go there something good comes out of it. If this restaurant where to close down then I would be devastated, however I know a lot of other hot dog joints to go to, so I am not too worried. For example Hiram's of Fort Lee and The Hot Dog House in Carlstadt.

Rutt's Hut is still and will always be my favorite hot dog place to go to. The history and fun I have from going there. When I grow up and have children I plan on bringing them and showing them the wonder that is deep-fried hot dogs. If I haven't persuaded you enough to love Rutt's Hut, then listen to these guys. So go on down to Rutt's Hut and enjoy the best hot dog of your life.

Mozilla CEO Steps Down
Just ten days after taking his new position, Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich has stepped down from his position. His resignation comes from a controversy that had just come out recently about his anti-gay past. He had donated $1,000 to a team that had been campaigning against gay marriage. The story had come out in 2012, but really came out this week when he had been promoted to CEO of the major browser. Maybe Mozilla should really look into who they are hiring next time.

4/1 Wikis
1. How can a wiki be used in your current classes? (tip: Use the Internet, here is a good source). Be specific to your classes!
2. What are the benefits of using a wiki?
3. How can we create one in this class and utilize it?
4. What experience do you have using or creating wikis?
2. What are the benefits of using a wiki?
3. How can we create one in this class and utilize it?
4. What experience do you have using or creating wikis?
1. For chemistrry class using wikipedia and its interactive periodic table is one of the best things to use on the internet. The periodic table of elements on that page is very useful because it is constantly being updated with new info because new info comes out every day about each element. Scientists discover new things about each element every day, and Wikipedia with its over 21,000,000 users aqre constantly updating the page so I get the mst recent information about my topic.
2. Wikis provide the most recent information every day about millions of different topics. The 21,000,000 million users are constantly updating and fixing everything on each individual topic. These people use reliable sources and always have their citations under the actual article. Wikis are a great starting point for research.
3. Wikis could be very helpful to use in a class. We could al post our notes onto a wiki so we can collaborate and work togeter to make the perfect notes for us to study and learn the new topics that we get taught each day.
4. I have plenty of experience using wikis, I have used wikipedia for as long as I can remember just because of how helpful and informative it is. I have never created or edited a wiki but I look forward to doing it in the future

Wikis 3/31
A wiki in my opinion in is a collaborative website that its users can jointly create articles and answer peoples questions. Wikipedia and Wikianswers are two examples. Wikipedia is a website were its users collaborate and work towards making an aricle about a topic giving it all the facts and knowledge about the topic. Wikianswers is a page were you can ask a question and people collaboratively work together in answering your question.

Facebook Buys Oculus
The major virtual reality gaming system company Oculus had recently received a buyout from Facebook. Facebook coughed up $2 billion dollars over to the headset company. The company only made 75,000 headsets, and they were only for gaming. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg says he plans to expand the headsets from gaming on computers to possible social media connectivity on the phone. The headsets haven't been released yet but Facebook is in high hopes to sell a lot of their new investment.

Do Now 3/24/14
When I make a purchase I am usually sucked in by many different techniques that companies use to sell their product. I always get sucked in by the use of nice pictures and quality sales pick-up lines. I am always a sucker for a picture or video that presents a product to look beautiful. I also am a sucker for a funny pick-up line that sucks me into a sale. I am a salesman's dream, I am too easy.

Google Play Store Gets Hacked, Twice

On March 17 a hacker by the name of Ibrahim Balic from Turkey had hacked the Google Store twice after the developer console had crashed when he noticed a vulnerability in the system. This hack had made your phone not see new apps and updates to your old apps. The hacker had admitted that he had no intention of performing a malicious act and he didn't mean to cause any danger. Developers at Google are outraged because the first hack had happened sunday morning. Google developers had stayed up all night fixing it, just to find themselves back to work hard again fixing another hack the next day. Developers from app producing companies were not allowed to put on new apps on the market.

Invisiblity Cloak
If I were to have an invisibility cloak for one day then I would definitely be the town hero. I would put on my cloak and save everyone in Wood-Ridge from the little dangers that no one knows about. My day would start ff with me waking up. Nothing too crazy, but I go downstairs early to help my mom make her daily routine a little easier. I would out the things that she needs to do closer to each other so she takes less time to do it. Maybe I would do my laundry and make my lunch, just to make my mom's life easier.
Next I would ride along with my dad to work. I would clear the way for him and make his commute a lot easier in the morning by getting rid of all traffic. When my dad goes into work I would follow him in and take all of his co-workers that are a pain to him, and hide them, just for the day. To end my day I would hitch a ride back with my dad and end up in the great little town of Wood-Ridge. There I would stay in the middle of town where I can scope out for anyone that needs help or anyone that needs saving. And that is how I would spend a day with and invisibilty cloak.

Facebook Founder Calls President Obama to Complain about NSA
Late Wednesday night Mark Zuckerberg had called up President Obama to express his complaints about the new and strict enforcements of the NSA. The National Security Agency, or the NSA, is President Obama's new security system enforced throughout American computers and software. With this new security technology the government can view what American's are watching, posting, or streaming. Mark Zuckerberg had made his call to express his complaints about how protective the system was and how Facebook has enough security already. On a post on his page Tuesday morning he stated, "When our engineers work tirelessly to improve security, we imagine we're protecting you against criminals, not our own Government." His developers work hard everyday to keep his website fresh and safe, but with the new government enforcement it is very hard for him and his developers to keep the website new.

High-Tech Glasses Help Surgeons View Cancer Cells
Seen in the photo is Dr. Julie Margenthaler, breast surgeon and associate professor of surgery at Washington University wearing the new technology. The goggles haven't received a name yet, however their possibilities are outstanding. The new technology will help the user spot cancer cells much easier, making it easier for the surgeon to remove all cancer cells and making it less likely for a patient to have to attend a follow up surgery. The new technology works by first the surgeon injected a flourescent marker that makes the cancer cells brighten up a light shade of blue. The goggles allow the surgeon view the distinct colors and remove those cells. The goggles are still in development and don't even have a name yet. Dr. Julie Margenthaler is raving about the goggles because they eliminate the follow surgeries as well as the anxiety and extra pain of the surgeries. The main goal of the goggles is "To leave no cancer cell behind". Hopefuly this can be achieved. Full article here.

Boeing to Sell Phone That Self-Destructs
If you were a Mission Impossible fan, doesn't this sound absolutely awesome? The new Boeing Black is set to debut some time in the Summer and has a very new patent coming with it. Although there will be no explosions of fireworks, the phone will completely delete all data on the phone if the case or battery gets tampered with. So playing with your phone will be a bad thing to do. However these phones will most likely not be available for regular everyday consumers as they will most likely be used for a field of work that involves security. The phone will run on Google's Android engine. The phone has no set date or price yet, but Boeing developers are expecting this to be a great product to introduce them into the world of cellular devices.

Educational Technology and Copyright Law
After reading Educational Technology and Copyright Law I have learned a few new things about the internet and it's endless rules about copyright. I personally had a very limited knowledge on the topic so this article really showed me something new about copyright laws. For example I didn't know that even a doodle can be copyrighted right away and I also didnt know of the 4 rights that a person gets once they create something. This article definitely enhanced my knowledge on the topic and now I know how to be smarter on the internet with copyright and fair use in mind.

New App Helps You Fight Parking Ticket
This new application to your phone called Fixed, is a new way to fight a parking ticket that you had received. Here's how Fixed works, when someone gets a ticket they snap a photo of it on their iPhone and enter the violation code. Fixed will tell them what percentage of those types of tickets are usually overturned and then show a list of possible reasons it could be found invalid. For example, a street cleaning sign might be obscured by a leafy tree, or a parking meter could be broken. This new technology is innovative for the people, they now have a way to fight against a system that is very hard to beat. Fixed however comes with a price. With every ticket beat the app will charge the winner 25% of what the ticket was. If you lose, however, the Fixed App will not charge you. The app is still under construction and has no set release date.

Chemistry Class!
This year in my Chemistry honors class I have been introduced to a new science that I have never seen before. The teacher is Mr.Maniscalco, all of his information will be displayed here. He has been teaching or three years here at WRHS and he has been very imprortnatn for the school because he teaches five different classes. At the beginnning of the year i couldnt wait to get into learning chemistry with such a great teacher and man like Mr.Maniscalco. We often visit the Youtube Channel Crash Crash Course Chemistry to help us with the criiteria in chemistry. The channel is great becuase the comedy from the channel makes it easier to learn the hard parts of chemistry. If you want to visit the channel then click here.

So far in the course we haeve gotten through the periodic table and other common resources that are very relevant to the field of chemistry. The periodic table is shown to the right and it is a great tool to help solve equations and other common chemistry problems. Our teacher runs the common grading policy at WRHS. He is always there to help after or before school. He is a very great teacher because he knows how to connect to his students and how to help them surive the tough course of chemistry.
My favorite parts of the course are the labs that we often do and the cool videos that we watch. During the course we have watched multiple videos abut common chemistry topics. My favorite was the video on the Northern light because they are so beautiful. Evryday we use a new piece of technology to help us gater data and other important resources.I love chemistry class at WRHS

Technology Article 2-7-14: Hunger Games to use CGI in the final Hunger Games Movie in replacement of Philip Seymour Hoffman
The late Philip Seymour Hoffman passed away on February 2 leaving his role unfinished in the first and second parts of the final Hunger Games movie. This technology is not new as it has been used in the role of Oliver Reed in the 2000 movie Gladiator. Multiple scenes in that movie had been regenerated using the then new technology of Computer Generated Imagery. Fortunately many parts of the movie wont be effected and the movie will release on the same dates of November 21, 2014 for art 1 and November 20, 2015.
CGI Technology is a fairly new technology. Like I had mentioned before it had been used in past movies but it will be making a very big appearance in a very big movie franchise. CGI uses computer art to make a moving picture that coincides with the actual real life characters in the movie. Some movies have been ruled terrible because of their use of really bad CGI effects. Here is a video of some of the worse CGI uses ever. CGI is a great technology that can really improve a movie, or make it ten times worse.
